“Shock” is a collaboration between the choreographer Andressa Miyazato, the composer Will Menter, the video artist Jonatan Salgado Romero, and the third- year students from the Institute of Dance Artes (IDA. It participated in the “Luftline #5” organized by the Institute of Dance Arts (IDA) 2022 at the Anton Bruckner Private University.

Our dance piece explores the concept of entropy, defined as the measure of disorder or uncertainty in a system. We approached this theme through the sound/choreo(graphic)/sculptural concept inspired by the composer and sound artist Will Menter, who is interested in the intermediate space between humanly produced sounds and natural sounds. The sound/choreo(graphic)/sculptural approach allowed us to play with the idea of disarray, chaos, and randomness, which is the universe’s tendency toward transformation.
