Shock

Shock is a collaboration between choreographer Andressa Miyazato, composer Will Menter, video artist Jonatan Salgado Romero, and third-year students from the Institute of Dance Arts (IDA). The piece was presented as part of Luftlinie #5, organized by IDA in 2022 at the Anton Bruckner Private University.

The work explores the concept of entropy — understood as a measure of disorder or uncertainty within a system. We approached this theme through a sound/choreo(graphic)/sculptural framework, inspired by composer and sound artist Will Menter, whose work often navigates the threshold between human-made and natural sounds. This interdisciplinary approach allowed us to engage with ideas of disarray, chaos, and randomness — embracing the universe’s inherent tendency toward transformation.
